(a) There shall be a Keep America Beautiful Commission in the City. The Commission shall advise Council and carry out Council’s directives in matters relating to refuse and environmental management.
(b) The Keep America Beautiful Commission shall consist of nine members who shall be residents of the greater Alliance area. The members shall be nominated by the Mayor and approved by Council. The members shall be nominated from the following groups if possible:
Group Number Business, industry, or professional 1 Labor 1 Community Service Organization 1 Education 1 Youth Service Organization 1 Members at Large 4 |
The term of office for each Commissioner shall be two years coinciding with the terms of City Council. In the event that a vacancy occurs prior to the expiration a Commissioner’s term the Mayor with the approval of City Council shall appoint a successor Commissioner to fulfill the unexpired term. The Director of Public Safety and Service or designee shall serve as a permanent, non-voting ex-officio member of the Commission
