(a) All elected officials including the President of Council, Councilmen and Treasurer and all full-time officers and employees of the City shall be entitled to term life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage at the expense of the City.
For the purpose of this section a full-time officer and employee shall be defined as any officer or employee who is scheduled to work or who actually works twenty hours or more a week but does not include any employee who is hired on a seasonal basis.
(b) The amount of term life insurance coverage shall be ten thousand dollars ($10,000) and the accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage shall be ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
(c) There is created in the General Fund, Sewer Fund, Sanitary Fund, Income Tax Fund and Water Fund a Term Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Fund from which the City Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrants in payment for the above from the proper items of appropriation and further upon receipt of vouchers duly approved by the proper department authorities.
