(a) Permits shall be required for the following electrical, heating, additions, alterations, removal, remodeling, demolition and construction:
(1) Roof. Replacement or repair of sheeting and/or support members.
(2) Siding. Installation of siding (except siding encompassing less than twenty- five square feet of a wall area).
(3) General repair/renovations. All structural work for load bearing walls, foundation or support members.
(4) Electrical.
A. Service upgrade.
B. Electrical panel upgrade and/or replacement.
C. All work within electrical panel/box.
(5) Heat, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC).
A. Installation/replacement of furnace, heat pump or central air system.
B. Repairs to furnace, heat pump or central air system.
(b) No person shall construct, alter, remove, demolish or commence the construction, alteration, removal or demolition of a building or structure or install equipment for the operation of a building without first filing with the Building Department an application and obtaining a formal permit in conformity with this section.
