It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle to stop or park, or permit any vehicle to stand at any time in any of the following places except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic sign or signal:
(A) On the mainly-traveled portion of any roadway or on any other place in the roadway where vehicles stand in any manner other than as specified in § 72.02.
(B) Within an intersection.
(C) Upon a sidewalk (however, in a residential zone where a sidewalk and a driveway to a residence cross, then parking is permitted on the driveway), or in front of sidewalk ramps for persons with disabilities.
(D) Within 30 feet of any stop sign, or other traffic signal located at the side of the roadway.
(E) Within 15 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station.
(F) Within eight feet of a fire hydrant in a residence district in which houses are of detached or semi-detached types, or within 20 feet of a fire hydrant elsewhere.
(G) Within four feet of a public or private driveway.
(H) Upon a crosswalk.
(I) Alongside of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of highway.
(J) At any place opposite or alongside a curb which has been painted red, yellow, or orange, or where other official traffic signs have been erected prohibiting stopping.
(K) Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping or parking would obstruct traffic.
(L) Close enough to any railroad track so as to obstruct the movement of locomotives or cars.
(M) On that portion of public property located between the sidewalk and the curbline of the street.
