3-2-17: LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSIONER:
   (A)   Authority: The mayor of the city shall be the liquor control commissioner and shall be charged with the administration of all ordinances and resolutions relating to alcoholic liquor. The mayor may appoint a person, or persons to assist him in the exercise of the powers and performance of the duties herein provided for such liquor control commissioner.
   (B)   Powers Of The Liquor Control Commissioner: The local liquor control commissioner shall have the powers granted to that position by this section and by 235 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/4-4 et seq., as amended, including the power to grant or suspend for no more than thirty (30) days or revoke for cause all local licenses issued to persons for premises located within the corporate limits of the city. All revocation or suspension hearings shall be held in compliance with 235 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/7-5. The local liquor control commissioner may revoke or suspend any license issued by him if he determines that the licensee has violated any of the provisions of the Illinois liquor control act of 1934, as amended from time to time, or of any section of the city's liquor control ordinance, or any resolution adopted by the city relating to alcoholic liquors, or any rule or regulation established by the local liquor control commissioner or the state commission which is not inconsistent with law.
