7-3-2: CONTAINERS REQUIRED:
No person shall permit any waste to accumulate on his or her premises whether residential, commercial, or industrial, except in containers or receptacles appropriate for the type of waste involved excepting yard waste, tree and shrub branches and trimmings, and construction debris. The term "container" includes garbage cans, metal or plastic, with lids fitting nearly airtight and watertight as practicable. It also includes toters having a capacity of not less than thirty five (35) gallons nor more than forty (40) gallons, with an attached lid, a handle and wheels having a minimum of six inches (6") in diameter. And it also includes recyclable containers or bins which need not have lids. Every person in possession of a dwelling unit, including multi- family dwellings of four (4) units or less, shall be required to have accumulations of refuse and waste collected and disposed of regularly and systematically at least once per week by a residential waste hauler duly licensed by the city, except for recyclable materials, which shall be collected and disposed of by a duly licensed residential waste hauler at least weekly.
