All new business occupancies and changes in use groups shall obtain a certificate of occupancy from the building official prior to occupying property for the new business or occupancy use. Such uses and occupancies shall comply with the following process:
(A) Apply for certificate of occupancy (CO);
(B) Obtain an occupancy inspection from the Code Administration Department;
(C) Correct all violations noted on inspection report, if any;
(D) Obtain reinspection approval from the Code Administration Department;
(E) Obtain and comply with certificate of occupancy;
(F) New businesses shall not occupy a building or premises until issued a CO. A conditional CO may be issued at the building official's discretion, depending on the severity of the violation and for other cause, such as weather;
(G) This process shall not apply to home occupations. (Ord. 06-19-06-1, 8-21-2006)
