3-4-2-1: CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
   (A)   Required: It shall be unlawful for any person eighteen (18) years of age or older, any firm, or any corporation to engage in soliciting or to engage as a hawker or peddler or itinerant vendor or transient merchant of any merchandise, article, thing, or amusement without first having secured certificates of registration therefor.
   (B)   Special Events: Any peddler, hawker, itinerant vendor, solicitor or transient merchant participating in any special event for which the sponsor has sought and obtained approval from the city of Aledo may sell and offer for sale any produce, goods, wares or merchandise without first obtaining a certificate of registration as required by this section, provided that each such participant complies with the following requirements:
      1.   All displays, sales and related activities shall be limited to the boundaries of the special event for which the city granted approval to the sponsor;
      2.   All displays, sales and related activities shall be conducted in the areas designated by the sponsor;
      3.   Participating peddler, hawker, itinerant vendor, solicitor or transient merchant shall indemnify and hold the city and its employees harmless from and against all claims of any kind whatsoever related to such participants' conduct occurring at the special event and shall submit proof of liability insurance to the city and sponsor demonstrating adequate liability coverage;
      4.   Participating peddler, hawker, itinerant vendor, solicitor or transient merchant shall comply with all rules, regulations and requirements set out by the city and by the sponsor; and
      5.   Participating peddler, hawker, itinerant vendor, solicitor or transient merchant shall pay any participation fees to the sponsor.
   (C)   Exemption: A school, religious or not for profit organization operating within Mercer County, shall be exempt from registration. (Ord. 07/2015, 9-8-2015, eff. 1-1-2016)
