§ 34.18 SNOW AND ICE CLEARING FROM FIRE HYDRANTS REQUIRED.
   (A)   The occupant of any premises located within the town or the owner of any unoccupied premises within said town, when removing or clearing snow and ice from their premises, are hereby prohibited from causing or allowing snow or ice to be deposited against or around fire hydrants in such a way as to obstruct or hinder immediate access to said fire hydrants in the event of fire or public emergency requiring their use. The word OCCUPANT, as used in this section, shall be deemed to mean the person occupying for business, residence or other purposes the first floor of any building situated on the premises so occupied; and if the first floor of any building is not occupied, then such premises shall be deemed and held to be unoccupied and the owner or lessee of the entire premises shall be required to keep said fire hydrants cleared from snow and ice.
   (B)   Each 24-hour period shall be treated separately for consideration of whether or not this section has been violated, and therefore separate violations may occur in separate 24-hour periods.
   (C)   Any person violating this section shall, upon conviction, be fined the sum of $300, provided however that in the event that said ordinance violation is admitted before the Ordinance Violation Bureau on or before 30 days from the issuance of the citation, then the fine shall be the sum of $100.
