9-3-16: VIOLATIONS; PENALTIES:
   A.   Notice Of Violation: Any person found to be violating any provision of this chapter shall be served by the city with written notice stating the nature of the violation and providing a reasonable time limit for the satisfactory correction thereof. The offender shall, within the period of time stated in such notice, permanently cease all violations.
   B.   Misdemeanor Violation; Penalty: Any person who shall continue any violation beyond the time limit provided for in subsection A of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code for each violation. Each day on which any such violation occurs shall be deemed a separate offense. A conviction shall not bar a later conviction for subsequent violations of this chapter.
   C.   Liability Of Violator; Costs Assessed:
      1.   Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall become liable to the city for any expense, loss, or damage occasioned the city by reason of such violation.
      2.   In addition to any penalties that may be imposed for violation of any provision of this chapter, the city may assess against any person the cost of repairing or restoring sewer or associated facilities damaged as a result of the discharge of prohibited wastes by such person and may collect such assessment as an additional charge for the use of the public sewer system or in any other manner deemed appropriate by the city.
