§ 72.25 AUTHORITY TO ERECT SIGNS.
   Whenever any ordinance designates any one-way street or alley there shall be signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulation shall be effective unless the signs are in place. Signs indicating the direction of lawful traffic movement shall be placed at every intersection where movement of traffic in the opposite direction is prohibited.
§ 72.26 MOVEMENT OF TRAFFIC.
   On those streets and parts of streets and in those alleys described in Traffic Schedule XX, hereby made a part hereof, vehicular traffic shall move only in the indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited. A violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor.

SPEED REGULATIONS
§ 72.35 GENERAL SPEED REGULATIONS.
   No person shall drive a vehicle on a street or highway at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions then existing. Except as otherwise provided in § 72.36, it shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of 35 miles per hour inside the corporate limits. A violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor.

§ 72.36 SPEED REGULATIONS ON CERTAIN STREETS.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of the speeds listed below on the streets or portions of streets of the state highway system listed in each designated Traffic Schedule hereby made a part hereof.
      (1)   Twenty miles per hour, Schedule I.
      (2)   Twenty-five miles per hour, Schedule II.
      (3)   Thirty miles per hour, Schedule III.
      (4)   Forty miles per hour, Schedule IV.
      (5)   Forty-five miles per hour, Schedule V.
      (6)   Fifty miles per hour, Schedule VI.
      (7)   Fifty-five miles per hour, Schedule VII.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful to operate a vehicle in excess of the speeds listed below on the streets or portions of streets, not a part of the state highway system, listed in each designated schedule, hereby made a part hereof.
      (1)   Twenty miles per hour, Schedule VIII.
      (2)   Twenty-five miles per hour, Schedule IX.
      (3)   Thirty miles per hour, Schedule X.
      (4)   Forty miles per hour, Schedule XI.
      (5)   Forty-five miles per hour, Schedule XII.
      (6)   Fifty miles per hour, Schedule XIII.
      (7)   Fifty-five miles per hour, Schedule XIV.
§ 72.37 DUTY OF DRIVER TO DECREASE SPEED.
   The fact that the speed of a vehicle is lower than the limits set out in the Traffic Schedules shall not relieve the driver from the duty to decrease speed when approaching and crossing an intersection, when approaching and going around a curve, when approaching a hill crest, when traveling on any narrow or winding roadway, or when a special hazard exists with respect to pedestrians or other traffic, or by reason of weather or highway conditions. Speed shall be decreased as may be necessary to avoid colliding with any other person, vehicle, or other conveyance on or entering the highway in compliance with legal requirements and the duty of all persons to use due care. A violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor.
