§ 31.16 PERMIT FOR BONFIRE OR OUTDOOR FIRE.
   No person shall kindle or maintain any bonfire, or shall knowingly furnish the material for any bonfire, or authorize any bonfire to be kindled or maintained on or in any street, avenue, road, lane, or public ground or on any private lot within the city unless a written permit to do so shall have first been secured from the Fire Chief. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the burning of trash and rubbish on private lots of residences without a permit when the burning is done in conformity with the provisions of § 31.15. A violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor.
