(A) Notwithstanding division (B) of this section, water lines from the water main to the pit, all water lines within the pit, including the water meter, and one additional foot of water line from the pit to the building being served shall be maintained in good repair at the expense of the Town, including replacement if necessary because of damage, corrosion, or other deterioration, provided such damage, corrosion, or other deterioration is not due to the fault of the customer or owner of the property.
(B) Where a sidewalk is within one foot of the water meter pit, water lines from the water main to the pit, all water lines within the pit, including the water meter, and water lines existing beneath said sidewalk shall be maintained in good repair one foot beyond the sidewalk at the expense of the Town, including replacement if necessary because of damage, corrosion, or other deterioration, provided such damage, corrosion, or other deterioration is not due to the fault of the customer or owner of the property.
(C) Water lines from the point described in the division (A) or (B) of this section to the building served shall be maintained and any leaks or other defects shall be promptly repaired by and at the expense of the owner of the property.
(D) If the meter is within the building served, the town will be responsible only for lines to within three feet from the outside of the building’s outer wall and for the meter itself, but not for any lines contained within the structure.
