(A) Leave without pay may be granted to an employee, upon application in writing and approval by the Town Council, for the following reasons and only after exhausting all other applicable categories of leave:
(1) Maternity;
(2) Extended sick leave (beyond the 180 days permitted under § 33.05 of this chapter);
(3) Extended bereavement leave; and
(4) Personal leave.
(B) The maximum length of leave will be no longer than six months, at which time the employee will be permanently terminated.
