For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION. Actions taken by the town in response to an employee’s infraction of rules.
EMPLOYEE. Any person who performs work or services for the civil town or its municipally- owned utilities and receives pay or other valuable compensation therefor, excepting an independent contractor or employees of such independent contractor. However, the provisions of § 33.10 of this chapter do not apply to an elected officer.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE. An employee working over 32 hours per week.
PART-TIME POLICE EMPLOYEE. An employee of the town’s Police Department who works 20 hours or less per week.
