§ 99.01 RESTRICTIONS CONCERNING ANIMALS LOCATED ON PERSONAL OR PUBLIC PROPERTY WITHIN THE URBAN DISTRICT OF THE TOWN OF ZIONSVILLE OR A PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TO/ABUTTING THE URBAN SERVICE DISTRICT.
   No owner shall allow his/her animal(s), including but not limited to dogs and chickens, to be outside his/her premises or place of business within the Urban District of the Town of Zionsville or a property immediately adjacent to/abutting the Urban Service District. It shall be a violation of this subchapter for any person to possess or harbor more than ten chickens at one time at the owner’s personal property or place of business within the Urban District of the Town of Zionsville or a property immediately adjacent to/abutting the Urban Service District. This limitation restricts the number to ten chickens per household regardless of how many individuals live in the household. Additionally, this limitation restricts the number to ten chickens per place of business. Furthermore, it shall be a violation of this subchapter for any person in the Urban Service District of the Town of Zionsville or a property immediately adjacent to/abutting the Urban Service District to own or harbor a rooster. A violation of this subchapter shall subject the animal’s owner to liability for a citation and a fine of $25 for each violation up to and including three violations within a calendar year. Any animal owner being cited for more than three violations of this subchapter in any one calendar year shall be liable for a fine of up to $75 for any additional violations during that calendar year (unless otherwise stated in this subchapter).
