For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
PAWNBROKER. Any person (as that term is hereinafter defined) who lends money on the deposit or pledge of personal property, or who deals in the purchase of personal property on the condition of selling the property back again at a stipulated price, other than choses in action, securities or printed evidence of indebtedness.
PERSON. An individual, firm, association, limited liability company, partnership, joint stock association, trust, corporation or any other entity capable of bringing suit or being sued.
PLEDGER. The person who delivers personal property into the possession of a pawnbroker as security for a loan or to sell the item of personal property unless such person discloses that the person is or was acting for another and, in such event, PLEDGER shall mean or refer to the disclosed principal.
