§ 71.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Every person who is convicted of a violation of § 71.01 shall be punished by a fine of not more than $10, or by imprisonment in the city jail for a period of not more than ten days, or both.

   (B)   (1)   Any person, firm, or corporation violating any provision of §§ 71.02 through 71.10 shall be fined not less than $25 nor more than $100 for each offense. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
      (2)   If the penalty amount is not paid to the city within 14 days, of the infraction the penalty amount shall be increased by $25 every seventh day, subsequent to the aforementioned fourteenth day. If a citation is not satisfied within 30 days from the date of issuance, the city may institute court action for failure to pay.
      (3)   The Police Department and/or the City Code Enforcement Officer(s) shall be authorized to issue citations for violation(s).
      (4)   Penalty amounts to be cited by the Police Department and/or Code Enforcement as immediately above stated may be modified by the City Council by resolution.
      (5)   Any person who receives a handicapped parking violation citation under §§ 71.02 through 71.10 but possesses a valid handicapped parking placard issued by the appropriate authority may, upon presentation of the citation and the placard at the Police Department within the initial time limit specified on the citation, have their fine reduced by 50%.

   (C)   Any violation of § 71.22 shall be deemed a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 or imprisonment for a period not to exceed 60 days or both. ('74 Code, § 13-42) (Ord. 296, passed 11-5-79)
   (D)   Any violation of § 71.11 shall be punishable by a fine of $50 for each separate violation. (Ord. 853-03, passed 6-23-03)
