(A) New buildings shall be equipped with a Class I standpipe system where any of the following exists, unless modified by the Fire Marshal or designee:
(1) More than two stories above grade.
(2) More than 35 feet above grade.
(3) More than one story below grade.
(4) More than 20 feet below grade.
(5) All new parking garages.
(6) In buildings with storage piled 12 feet or higher.
(7) Buildings protected by an automatic sprinkler system, with an enclosed courtyard that has limited fire rescue access for firefighting purposes.
(B) FDCs will be located within 150 feet of a functioning, duly inspected, adequately supplied fire hydrant installed to current American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards. FDCs will be clearly marked with six-inch letters and/or numbers, visible at day or night.
