§ 156.06 CONSTRUCTION AND PROTECTION OF AIRCRAFT HANGARS.
   (A)   The fire protection requirements for the construction and protection of structures that are erected for the sole purpose but, are not limited to the use of aircraft hangars, or that are used in any manner other than storage of aircraft and are clearly designed to fall within the definition set forth in National Fire Protection Association NFPA 409 as a building or other structure inside any part of which aircraft are housed or stored, and in which aircraft might undergo service, repairs or alterations shall comply with NFPA 409 in its entirety.
   (B)   (1)   Where hazardous operations, including fuel transfer, welding, torch cutting, torch soldering, doping and spray painting are performed, hangars shall have a fire suppression system installed in accordance with NFPA 409 for the protection of life and property.
      (2)   NFPA 409 shall govern all hangars as defined by NFPA 409 upon city airport property. When the hangar goes through a change of use not covered under NFPA 409 and is 5,000 square feet or more, the hangar shall comply with all ordinances then in effect.
