The number required by the provisions of this subchapter shall be placed on the front of the house or other premises in so conspicuous a manner that the number may be easily discernible and read from the opposite side of the street. If a house or premises is too far back from the street to comply with this section, or if the front thereof is hidden or the view thereof is obstructed by trees, plants, shrubbery or other objects, the number may be placed on a post or other object in order to comply with this section.
