The term of office of the present members of the Water and Sewer Commission shall expire July 1, 1983. After that date, members of such Commission shall be appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Council to staggered terms of office as follows: one one-year appointment; one two-year appointment; one three-year appointment; two four-year appointments; two five-year appointments. Any subsequent appointment after the above staggered appointments expire shall be for a set term of five years. Beginning July 1, 2011, all terms will expire on December 31 of the term expiration year. Any member whose term expires shall be eligible for reappointment to another five-year term. In the event of death, resignation or removal of a member, the Mayor with approval of the Council shall appoint a new member to serve during the remainder of the unexpired term.
