Upon notification by representatives of the Police Department that goods and articles received on deposit or consignment, in pawn, pledge, trade or exchange, or by purchase are the fruits of a crime, no pawnbroker shall dispose of such property. Interest upon such goods and articles pawned or pledged shall cease to accrue on the date of such notification.
