(A) To be eligible for consideration by the Chief of Police for appointment as a reserve police officer, a person shall meet the same background, testing and physical requirements required of a regular officer.
(B) The Chief of Police may, at his discretion, refuse to appoint a person even though he or she may fulfill the above qualifications and provided it is job-related and not discriminating against any job-protected class.
