A. This section shall not apply to massage therapists and massage practitioners who are certified by the CAMTC. The city manager or designee may issue a temporary massage therapy permit to any person whose application is pending for a personal or outcall massage therapy permit pursuant to this chapter, provided that the applicant has a personal or outcall massage therapy permit validly issued by another jurisdiction which has permit provisions comparable to the permit provisions of this chapter.
B. Comparable provisions shall include, but not be limited to, the fingerprinting, medical clearance and background clearance requirements set forth in this chapter.
C. All temporary permits shall automatically expire thirty (30) days after the date of issuance of the subject temporary permit or on the date a decision is made by the city manager, or designee, on the respective massage therapy permit application, whichever occurs first. The city manager shall have the discretion to extend the term of any temporary permit an additional thirty (30) days provided that the entire term of the subject temporary permit does not exceed a total period of ninety (90) days.
D. The decision of the city manager shall be final.
