§ 130.03 DEADLY WEAPONS.
   (A)   For purposes of this section the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      DEADLY WEAPON. A loaded or unloaded firearm, or a weapon, device, laser or electronic stun gun, equipment, chemical substance, knife or other material that in the manner it is used, could ordinarily be used or is intended to be used, is readily capable of causing serious bodily injury.
      FIREARM.  Any weapon which is capable of, designed to, or that may readily be converted to expel a projectile by means of an explosion.
   (B)   (1)   A person shall not possess in any vehicle, on or about their person, within the Yorktown Town Building and Yorktown Town Court and Police Station, and all parking areas adjacent to them, any deadly weapon.
      (2)   Excepted persons: Divisions (A) and (B)(1) above do not apply to marshals, sheriffs, police officers, judges, magistrates and master commissioners, bailiffs, prosecutors, their deputies and investigators, law enforcement officers, employees of the United States duly authorized to carry deadly weapons, employees of express companies when engaged in company business; former police and law enforcement officers, if serving as security for any agency or function of town government.
   (C)   Any person in violation of this section shall be subject to a fine up to $1,000 per violation and confiscation of the weapon.
