§ 11.01 POLITICAL DISTRICTS FOR THE CONSOLIDATED TOWN.
   (A)   Election pursuant to I.C. 36-4-6-4. For election years beginning in 2012, the Town of Yorktown elects to divide itself into five election districts pursuant to the authority of I.C. 36-4-6-4. The provisions of the Plan of Reorganization for the Town of Yorktown and Mt. Pleasant Township shall apply to all elections beginning in 2012, in preparation for the consolidation to take effect on January 1, 2013. Under that plan, five Council members will be elected from the five districts, and two Council members will be elected at large. For the non-at-large districts, the candidates must reside in the district in which he or she seeks election, but in all primary and general elections, the voters from all of the consolidated town may vote for all candidates in any and all districts.
   (B)   Districts designated. The election districts in which the non-at-large candidates must reside, are designated on the map attached to Ord. 828 as Exhibit A, and referred to as the Proposed Yorktown Districts.
   (C)   At-large districts. There are two at-large districts, which are comprised of all of the former political township known as Mt. Pleasant Township, except for any areas that have been previously annexed by and into the City of Muncie, Indiana.
   (D)   Terms. As suggested by the Plan of Consolidation at III (v)(d), the terms shall be staggered, and the terms of each member of the Town's legislative body shall continue as currently in effect.
   (E)   Notification of County Election Board. The Town Clerk-Treasurer shall send a certified copy of this chapter to the Secretary of the County Election Board.
