Whoever violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction thereof be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) and costs of prosecution, and in default of payment thereof shall be imprisoned for not more than ten days (10 days). A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
