The Fire Prevention Division of the Department of Fire Safety shall operate under the direction of the Director of Fire Safety as the fire official. The function of the Fire Prevention Division shall be to inspect all buildings and premises as often as may be necessary for the purpose of ascertaining and causing to be corrected any conditions which could cause fire, endanger life from fire, or any violations of the provisions of this subchapter and any other law or ordinance affecting fire safety.
