The Director of Fire Safety shall be responsible for administering and enforcing the provisions of this subchapter through the Department of Fire Safety. The Director shall function as the fire official who shall enforce the provisions of this code and all state laws under the official’s jurisdiction pertaining to the prevention, suppression or extinguishing of fires. The fire official and the official’s duly authorized representatives and agents shall have the powers of a police officer in performing their duties under this code.
