York County Council shall continue to levy, collect, and allocate ad valorem taxes within the York County rural fire district and all other fire tax districts within York County in accordance with all state and local statutes and ordinances. York County Council is further authorized to provide funds from the York County general fund to the fire departments operating within the York County rural fire district as may be prudent and necessary for the maintenance of fire protection services in York County.
