Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit any fire department from conducting its own independent fundraising activities. All funds raised by any fire department must be raised in a manner that comports with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and ordinances. Any fire department raising funds independently shall maintain an accounting of the income and expenditures and make such accounting available for review by the York County Council, County Manager, Director of Fire Services, Treasurer, or their staff upon request.
