Any animal owner may elect to have their dog or cat spayed or neutered at the time it is reclaimed and, in any such case, all boarding fees will be waived and the animal owner will pay one-half the cost of the impoundment fee in addition to the cost of the rabies vaccination and the microchip. The animal will remain at the shelter until the next available surgery day and must be picked up by the owner no later than 48 hours after surgery.
