Whenever it appears that a reward is claimed or might be claimed for such information furnished, the Sheriff is hereby directed to so inform the office of the District Attorney. The purpose of this directive is to inform the court before which a charge is pending and to encourage it to order the person convicted to reimburse the County in the amount of the reward paid, or to be paid, as a condition of probation, if probation is granted.
