The hearing officer shall forthwith hear the evidence and witnesses for and against the disqualification of the member or members and make his decision at the close of the hearing. The burden is upon the person challenging the member or members of the public body to overcome a presumption of honesty and integrity on the part of the member or members in order to obtain the disqualification of the member or members.
