252.07 MILITARY LEAVE WITH PAY; CONTINUATION OF BENEFITS.
   (a)   The Village employees who are or have been called to active military service pursuant to an order by the President of the United States or an Act of Congress related to the attack against the United States, which occurred on September 11, 2001, only, will be paid the difference, if any, between their regular Village wages and their military base pay for the duration of their active military duty.
   (b)   The Village employees who are or have been called to active military service pursuant to an order by the President of the United States or an Act of Congress related to the attack against the United States, which occurred on September 11, 2001, only, are entitled to the continuation of health and life insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents for the duration of their active military duty. A “dependent” is a relative of the employee as specified on the enrollment information maintained by the Village. The health and life insurance coverages are subject to the same exclusions and limitations currently in effect by the carriers or as may be placed in effect by the carriers subsequent to the passage of this section.
   (c)   The Village employees who are, or have been, called to active military service pursuant to an order by the President of the United States or an Act of Congress related to the attack against the United States, which occurred on September 11, 2001, only, shall continue to accumulate vacation and sick leave for the duration of their active military duty.
   (d)   The Village Manager or his or her designee is authorized and directed to take such actions as may be necessary to provide for Village employees on active military service the receive the pay and benefits named herein.
