The datum level or zero (0.000) point of all engineering work under the direction and control of the Village government is hereby established at the northeast corner of Dayton and Walnut Streets, and having a marked center, under which center datum is fixed and hereby established at an elevation of 199.841 feet below the surface of the datum monument.
The datum monument is a stone measuring six inches on top and placed on a bed of gravel setting twenty-four inches deep. All calculations and levels hereafter made shall refer to this datum as so many units above or below the aforementioned datum point.
