Owners or contracting tenants of any building shall, prior to 2-1-1963, cause the number or numbers so assigned to be placed and continuously maintained in a conspicuous place or places on the front of or the entrance to the building, with figures not less than three inches in height. If a building has more than one numbered entrance, the numbers shall be so placed as to indicate the numbered entrance. If the building is located so that entrance numbers on the building are not clearly visible from the street, a duplicate number shall be placed near the street to indicate the existence of such entrance.
