§ 1040.03 USE OF TRAILS AND PATHS.
   (a)   Specific Uses. Trails and paths may only be used for their posted purposes. On multi-use or shared-use trails or paths, pedestrians shall walk single file to allow other users on permitted vehicles to safely pass them. Any person on a permitted vehicle passing another person traveling in the same direction along any trail shall announce his or her intention to pass before doing so. No person shall pass another in a manner which endangers himself or herself or other trail users.
   (b)   Posted Signs; Right-of-Way. No person shall fail to obey any posted signs or signals on any trail. Pedestrians shall have the right-of-way, and cross traffic shall have the right-of-way at intersections.
   (c)   Horseback Riding. Horseback riding is prohibited in all parks and on all trails, unless the trail is designated as an equestrian trail.
   (d)   Vehicles.
      (1)   No person shall operate any motor vehicle, snowmobile, all-purpose vehicle, motorcycle (including autocycle, cab-enclosed motorcycle, and motor-driven cycle or scooter), motorized bicycle or moped, class 3 electric bicycle, or personal delivery device upon any trail or path, as set forth in Traffic Code Sections 444.09 - 444.11.
      (2)   The use of bicycles, class one electric bicycles, class two electric bicycles, electric personal assistive mobility devices, low-speed micromobility devices, and motorized wheelchairs on trails or paths shall be as provided in Traffic Code Sections 444.09 - 444.11.
   (e)   Camping. Camping or sleeping along the trails is not permitted.
