§ 1000.03 SAFETY STANDARDS.
   (a)   Fences or Barricades; Warning Signs. The permittee, or person performing the work on behalf of the permittee, shall ensure that any test boring, opening or excavation is adequately fenced or barricaded and warning signs posted. Fences or barricades and warning signs shall be securely and conspicuously placed in or near such test boring, opening or excavation, one at each end of the space so opened or excavated, and if the opening or excavation exceeds twenty feet (20') in length, additional warning devices shall be placed for each additional twenty feet (20') in length or portion thereof.
   (b)   Warning Lights. If an opening or excavation has been approved by the City Engineer to remain open overnight, the permittee, or the person performing the work on behalf of the permittee, shall also ensure that the opening is adequately lighted by flashing yellow lights or similar warning devices.
   (c)   Traffic Control. It shall be the responsibility of the permittee, or the person performing the work on behalf of the permittee, to provide adequate traffic control, as required by the City Engineer.
