Each separate building used as a residence must have separate stop boxes, regardless of the size of the lot occupied by the building. Where the street has been improved by paving, services may be separated at the curb by the installation of separate stop boxes. Where the street is unimproved, a separate service must be run to each separate house. In apartment buildings, the plumbing shall be placed so as to permit a separate shut-off valve for each separate dwelling unit where plumbing enters the building.
