All mains shall be of Class 52 ductile iron pipe or the minimum of DR18 PVC pipe AWWA C900 and shall meet all American Water Works Association standard specifications. All fittings and main valves shall meet the American Water Works Association standard specifications, and no main of a size less than six inches shall be extended. All fire hydrant laterals must be six inches in size and equipped with a master valve. All ductile iron and PVC pipe must be laid at a depth of not less than four feet, six inches to the flow line and must be installed to meet American Water Works Association standards for installation. No main shall be tapped by any person, except an employee of the Division of Water and Wastewater or a person or company certified by the Director of Public Service.
