1183.13 COURTS.
   If in any zone, any room in which persons live, sleep or work, except stores or storage rooms, cannot be reasonably and exclusively lighted and ventilated from a street or yard as required in this Zoning Code, a court shall be provided, the minimum dimensions of which shall be six inches in width for each foot of building height, but not less than six feet for inner courts and nine inches in width for each foot of building height, but not less than ten feet for outer courts; provided, however, that such court need not extend below the lowest story it is required to serve; and provided, further, that the maximum area of an outer court shall not be greater than four times the square of its required width; and that the minimum area of an inner court shall not be less than two times the square of its required width.
