(a) The following items may be placed within the limits of a front yard.
(1) Ordinary projections of eves, cornices, roof overhangs, and similar architectural features, chimneys and flues may be permitted to project into front yards a maximum of 24".
(2) Open, unenclosed porches, not exceeding forty square feet in area, and paved terraces may project into a front yard for a distance not exceeding ten feet.
(3) Driveways, sidewalks, and other at grade paved surfaces.

(4) Non-enclosing decorative fences without gates, that do not exceed 25% of the length of the front lot line or of the portion of a side lot line forward of the actual front building line, that do not exceed four feet in height, and decorative columns, markers and posts not exceeding six feet in height provided that, on corner lots, before granting such permission, the City Manager shall determine that any such decorative fence, column, marker, or post will not obstruct the view for traffic. Other than approved, low voltage, underground fences, no fence shall be charged with electrical current. No fence shall be constructed of or contain barbed wire or other similar materials.

(5) Temporary storage containers typically associated with moving or the temporary storage of household goods may be placed on an approved paved surface in a front yard for a period not to exceed thirty days in a one year period when an individual is moving into or out of a residence or during periods of construction when the owner of such property has obtained any necessary building permits or when performing construction activities for which no permit is required.

(6) Rain barrels and mechanical condensing and heating units provided that they are not larger than 42"x42"x48" tall and that they are adequately screened by vegetation or other approved method so as to be obscured from the public way.
