505.11 HUNTING PROHIBITED.
   (a)   Hunting within the City of Wyoming shall be prohibited unless otherwise permitted under this section.
   No person shall hunt, kill or attempt to kill, or pursue any animal or fowl by the use of firearms, air rifles, longbow, compound bow, crossbow, or employ any other device commonly used to wound or kill animals or fowl within the corporate limits of the City of Wyoming, except:
      (1)    With the authorization of the Chief of Police or the Chief of Police's designee in the form of a valid HUNTING PASS, permission may be given to hunt deer by use of a longbow, compound bow or crossbow.
      (2)    In full compliance with the written and established guidelines of the City of Wyoming Deer Management and Hunting Program; and
      (3)    In full compliance with all applicable state statutes and regulations.
   (b)    For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply;
      (1)    Longbow: A hunting weapon whereby a projectile or arrow is directed toward a target by means of the manual drawing and release of a string attached to a pole or rod known as a bow.
      (2)    Compound Bow: A hunting weapon of longbow type whereby a projectile or arrow is directed toward a target by means of the manual draw and release of the string that is aided by mechanical pulleys or other devices attached to the bow.
      (3)    Crossbow: A hunting weapon of rifle type whereby a projectile, arrow, bolt, or dart is directed toward a target by the manual draw and mechanical release of the string, usually, but not necessarily, by the pulling of a trigger attached to a fixed object or bow.
   (c)    Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree for the first offense and a third degree misdemeanor for the second and subsequent offense(s).
