5-2-11: SIMPLE ASSAULT; BATTERY:
   A.   Simple Assault:
      1.   Defined: A person is guilty of simple assault if, having the present ability to do so, he unlawfully attempts to cause bodily injury to another. (Ord. 2000-13, 11-13-2000, eff. 1-1-2001)
      2.   Penalty: Simple assault is a misdemeanor punishable as provided in section 5-2-13 of this chapter. (Ord. 2000-13, 11-13-2000, eff. 1-1-2001; amd. 2007 Code)
   B.   Battery:
      1.   Offense Defined: A person is guilty of battery if he unlawfully touches another in a rude, insolent or angry manner or intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another. (Ord. 2000-13, 11-13-2000, eff. 1-1-2001)
