(A) All paid members of the Fire Department shall be subject to certain sections of the personnel policies of the town.
(B) Volunteer members of the Fire Department shall be subject to certain sections of the personnel policies, such sections to include the following:
(1) Recruitment policies as set forth in the personnel policies to include, but not necessarily limited to Equal Opportunity Employment Policy, Equal Opportunity Employment Responsibility, Recruitment, Implementation, Recruitment Sources, Job Advertisements, Applications for Employment, Application File, Selection, Qualifications and Standards, and any amendments to or substitutions for these sections.
(2) In keeping with the council-manager form of government, all appointments to the Fire Department, both paid and volunteer, shall be subject to the final approval of the Town Manager. Appointments to vacant positions shall be based upon the recommendations made by the Fire Chief.
(3) Promotions policies and any amendments to or substitutions for this section.
(4) The grievance procedures and procedures for disciplinary action to include but not be limited to oral reprimand, written reprimand, suspension, demotion, and dismissal as set forth in Chapter 34 of the town code.
(5) The provisions of the personnel policies regarding personnel records to include Personnel Records Maintenance, Personnel Records, Basic Information Maintenance, Access to Personnel Records, Former Employees, Remedies of Employees Objecting to Material in File, Penalty for Permitting Access to Confidential File by Unauthorized Person, Disposal of Records Regulated, and Violations, or any amendments to or substitutions for these sections.
(6) Restriction on the use of confidential information or any amendments to or substitutions for this section.
(C) In addition to the provisions of the personnel policies to which volunteer and paid members of the Fire Department are subject, all volunteer and paid members of the Fire Department shall be subject to rules and regulations adopted for the operation of the Fire Department by the Fire Chief acting under the supervision of the Town Manager.
