§ 31.22 DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS.
   The Director of Public Works shall be knowledgeable of general public works operations including all work of the various divisions within the Department of Public Works. He shall, under the general direction of the Town Manager, be responsible for planning and directing the activities of the Department of Public Works, operations to include the four major divisions within the Department (Water and Sewer, Streets and Sanitation, Equipment and Building Maintenance, and Land Use and Building). He shall prepare and assist in preparing long and short term public works improvements for approval by the Town Manager and Board of Aldermen. He shall assist in the development of and coordinate budget requests so as to develop an overall public works program for the town. For the purposes of administration, the Town Manager shall place under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Works such divisions as he deems to be necessary for efficient public works operations.
