§ 74.37 OPERATION OF METERS.
   (A)   All persons parking a vehicle in a parking meter space shall deposit a valid coin or coins of the United States of America in the adjacent parking meter in order to activate such meter immediately after the vehicle is parked in such parking meter space. Coin or coins of sufficient value may be inserted in such meter at the time to cause the indicator to indicate the maximum permissible legal parking duration permitted for that parking space, or an amount of time less than the maximum allowable time.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit in any parking meter any slug, device, or substitute for coins of the United States of America.
   (C)   The purposes of the parking meters are to provide a readily viable means of enforcing the parking duration regulations in effect for the parking space and to facilitate the frequent turnover of space usage.
