If any charges as billed monthly have not been paid for three consecutive months, then a penalty as set forth in § 55.05 shall be added to the amount due. Any such past due fees may then be certified to the County Auditor for collection with real estate taxes on the following year pursuant to M.S. 429.101, Subd. 1(a). In addition, the city shall also have the right to bring a civil action or to take other legal remedies to collect unpaid fees.
